ABOUT US
Farm Stop is situated on the Polson family farm. As the sixth generation of farmers, farming is very much in our blood. Originally from a small croft in Caithness, we moved down to Aberdeenshire over twenty years ago and have slowly expanded our farm over the past ten years. Initially, the farm specialised in North Country Cheviot sheep and we have gradually grown and diversified. We acquired our first Valais Blacknose sheep, Bella and Booboo, in 2015 and have been breeding them ever since. Valais Blacknose sheep have been named the “cutest in the world”, and as such, it is no surprise they have become our logo!
Christina’s first diversification away from sheep was Iona, the Highland Cow, which she received as a 21st birthday present. Since then, we have gradually acquired a wide range of farm animals. We now have sheep, cattle, goats, pigs, donkeys, ducks, chickens and alpacas all waiting to meet you!
Over lockdown getting out for scenic walks and reconnecting with nature has helped us all through the pandemic. It also inspired Farm Stop, which is built on the principle that animals can provide great therapeutic and educational benefits. The family farm’s latest diversification is a purpose-built animal interaction and education facility that will offer farm experiences for all and aim to improve mental health.
We feel extremely lucky to live on such a beautiful coastline and would love to share our amazing views, love of animals and offer you a fun-filled experience: so stop by for an unforgettable time!
